Special Announcement

Dear BritWeek supporters,

As you may already know, Sharon and Bob Peirce have left Los Angeles for Sharon’s family home in Virginia. As the new Chairman, it befalls me to inform you about this year’s Britweek events. 

As a charity it is extremely important for Britweek to focus and prioritize on events that will provide funds. Consequently we are only producing 3 events this year. The first will be a return to the Wallis Annenberg for Louis Fantasia’s highly successful “Shakespeare Evening” on Saturday, April 28th. It will again be hosted by Ioan Gruffudd and Joely Fisher with over 27 acting luminaries participating. Our last event sold out extremely quickly so be sure to go online or call the Annenberg box office as soon as you can, (310) 746-4000. Ticket prices start at $40. 

Our next event on May 4th is in partnership with the British Government’s GREAT campaign. It is “The GREAT Britweek Innovation Awards.” Held at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica, this promises to be a great evening's entertainment. Not just inside the ballroom but outside in the grounds of the hotel. Tables of 10 begin at $5,000 and individual tickets are $500. We are not at liberty to name the honorees at this time but they range from movie makers, TV stars, fashionistas, and tech. Innovators. MTA Events will be handling ticket sales and tables will be available for purchase soon.

Our final event is at the Getty Villa entitled "A Modern Take on Plato". It is an homage to Plato through the eyes of modern painters. The exciting news is that Jeff Koons will be unveiling his new work. Unfortunately this event will be by invitation only. 

Among the charities we will be supporting this year is Cinemagic. With the help of your donations we will create a Britweek Scholarship that will send 5 inner city kids to the UK.
